Locals helping locals​

All our staff are locals who live in Kalgoorlie. We don’t work with FIFO personnel, Preferring to relocate our workers to the Kalgoorlie area so they can go home to their families at the end of each day.

Our approach means we have very low staff turnover which translates to better consistency and a higher level of service for you. With only a full-time team, you’ll see the same faces on a project from start to finish and get to know our hard-working employees when you work with us across multiple projects. Don’t let our locality trick you—we can travel to worksites of any location to carry out repairs & maintenance. As active members of the community, ABBA Engineering also supports several organisations, activities and charities, along with various national charities. These include Mining Legends, PCYC, Boulder Rotary Club and Ronald McDonald House.

Chief Executive Officer

Lindsay MacDonnell

Lindsay is an accomplished business executive with over 20 years’ experience in the mining industry. Demonstrating a strong technical skill set Lindsay holds trade qualifications in Engineering, Fabrication and Mechanical disciplines.

Lindsay offers a well-rounded perspective to each division of the business and his innovative proactive leadership ensures the highest level of support to management to enable ABBA Engineering to exceed projects and client expectations.

General Manager

Steve McBride

Steve has a demonstrated track record of successful delivery of multiple varied disciplined projects within the client specified shutdown period and meeting fiscal restraints. Steve’s dedication and proactive Project Management style is highly regarded throughout the industry with his growing portfolio of highly valuable clients. 

Maintenance & Systems Manager

Stephen Cambetis

With 14 years in maintenance operations and the mining industry, Stephen brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the ABBA Engineering team. Stephen’s key background covers mobile maintenance, structures, systems and he’s a qualified mobile plant mechanic.

Project Manager

Kiri Morris

Kiri has 13 years’ experience in the Construction in the utilities sector from AS3000 Installations, WPC Distribution, Transmission Construction and Water Corporation infrastructure as a Project Manager.

A combination of Kiri’s experience in high standard technical in utilities asset infrastructure projects within Western Australia and attention to detail creates a synergy to add value and contribute knowledge to a vary array of project disciplines.
